In Grandmas kitchen .....

.... you get to make lemon curd tarts with the left-over pastry Grandma saved for you.

not too much not too little

press down gently

time for a goofy smile

cutting out the pastry

Grandma would be horrified if she knew I included this pic!
(notice the unintentionally colour co-ordinated grandparents!!)

Grandmas guiding hands :)
Its such a shame that I forgot to take photos of the tarts when they came out of the oven. They were delicious! Its also a shame that you won't eat anything like these tarts so you will never know how good they tasted :(

its my turn :)

Debs at Paper Turtle has picked me to be the next recipient of the book 'Inner Excavation' by Liz Lamoreux. This book began its journey with "Pass The Book" a book circle began by the lovely Sian over in Ireland. She passed it to Cheri who then passed it to Debs (both lovely ladies in the US) & now it will be on its way back over the Atlantic to me! How very lovely :)
Im really looking forward to reading this book!!

Changing the subject...........

.........I can't remember where this image came from but she speaks volumes don't you think?

quick update

I have been struggling along with many other people to leave comments on the blogs I am reading. This is Bloggers fault apparently ...... I wish they would hurry up & solve the problem!
So just to let you know I am reading all my faves as usual :)

I have also been getting to grips with Pinterest. Totally time consuming (as if I needed another reason NOT do do the ironing)! I have some invites left if anyone would like one? Leave your email in the comments if you do :)

Mels Alpha-numeric Blog Hop!!

Hello & welcome to my part of the blog hop organised by the marvelous Mel at I Speak Melsh. You should have reached me via Stacey but if you happened here by chance please feel free to start at Mels blog by clicking her link & then follow the blogs in order or just carry on to the next blog from here :) The theme for this hop is Alpha-numeric. It started as just an alphabetical theme but I think Mel underestimated her fans/followers so she had to expand to numbers!! I have been allocated the number 2 .... not an exciting number like 7 or 13 is it? But after giving it some thought I realised how important this little number is in our lives. We live in a (mostly) symetrical world. Where would we be without a pair of hands or eyes or legs? Goodness we would be without pairs of shoes!! From pairs we can go to twins. My aunty had 2 sets of twins - one set in each marriage! 2 peas in a pod! Terrible picture ...... sorry Aunty but its the only one I have! This is c1965 with her first twins - I still can't tell the difference between them 40+ years later! My aunts other twins were born about 10 years later, girls again but this time non-identical. They were 2 of my 4 bridesmaids in 1989 :) Another terrible photo but I didn't keep many. The twins are the first two to my right. Wikipedia has a wealth of information on the number two. For example it is the first & smallest prime number and the only even one. Other references of course can be made to 2nd best, 2nd marriage, 2 halves, 2 hearts beat as one, put two & two together, 2 o'clock, etc etc! But I think I will end with this photo of the Twin Towers. Your next hop on our journey is to Helena's Creative Maven

If you have any problems with any of the links (we are all over the world so some time zones and some blogging platforms auto-posts may throw a spanner in the works) please go back to Mels where she has a full list of all the participants

Thankyou for reading my blog :) Happy hopping!! x
