My little miracle

I'm in a bit of a low point at the moment. I hope it won't be long before I'm up again :(

I've been blog-hopping today & just found this quote which made me smile

"When I count my blessings I always count you twice."

Its just right for how I feel about my son as I had to wait until I was 40 years old to become pregnant & when he arrived 8 weeks early weighing just 3 lb & 2 ozs he was indeed my little miracle & I am very blessed

Today I am......

outside my window - the garden is a mess while Neil tries to remodel it
I am thinking - he really doesn't know what he's doing
I am thankful - for a day off
I am wearing - navyblue tshirt, beige trousers & sandals
I am creating - a pile of 'chuck-outs' because the airing cupboard door wouldn't close as there are too many sheets etc
from the kitchen - the breakfast dishes need washing up!
I am going - to find some inspiration to start scrapbooking again
I am reading - 'The Memory Keepers Daughter'
I am hoping - my son has a good day at school as last week was a disaster because his 'helper' was off sick
I am hearing - the birds singing
around the house - its lovely and quiet
one of my favourite things - morning snuggles with my son

I hope you have a great day :)

Close ups

Sian asked in my previous post for some close-ups of the 'doodle hand'
Just for you Sian!! xx

Jakes 7!!

OMG!!
I cant believe I haven't blogged about Jakes birthday on the 10th this month ........ I'm hanging my head in shame ..... sorry son :(
These pics are from his party at Jungleland where for 2 hours he & his friends get to have a mini disco, play on the giant softplay equipment & have a meal - all taken care of by a party leader usually called Vicki or something similar (with a very loud voice)lol.

The only disappointment of the day was that two of his friends didnt turn up (the mothers have since owned up that they simply forgot).

Jake loved his Super Mario cake ...... thankyou Grandma!!

Crafty Swaps 2

I can now show you what I sent to Tracey (see previous post)

I racked my brains for ages as to what I could make for her - my only clue was her love of the colour purple! I would have made her a granny square blanket but the postage cost would have been outrageous....lol.

After much deliberation & panic I finally decided to take the plunge & do one of my 'doodle hands' that I've only ever made for myself purely when I was bored (pre crafty days!!!)

Tracey sent me a drawing I asked her to do of round her hand - like you used to when you were a kid...... remember? She sent it with the lovely sock rabbit she made me as her part of the exchange but unfortunately she had folded the paper & left an unsightly crease. After scanning it & photo-editing it I could finally get going.

I included the words 'family' 'life' 'love' 'laugh' 'home' & Traceys daughters name Robyn to give a bit of personality to it & make hers alone.
I was very pleased with it ......though I'm not sure it was quite the 'handmade item' that the organisers meant!! I have had an email from Tracey to say she loves it too!!
What do you think?

Crafty swaps!

I recently took part in a 'swap' organised by Claire involving anyone who could make something lovely in exchange for recieving something just as lovely in return.

I was partnered with Tracey who happened to like purple best. No other preferences were given so that left me with a few ideas to chose from!! I will be letting you all know what I finally decided on when she has safely recieved her package in the post :)

Tracey was very fast off the mark when it came to sending my gift to me!! All I requested was the colour turquoise (I'm having a bit of a love affair with it at the moment). I was so pleased when I recieved this gorgeous sock bunny & a pot holder made from 4 squares of pretty material. Tracey is so clever & her sock creatures are all amazing! Thanks so much Tracey :)

Wroxeter roman ruins

Typical British Bank Holiday Monday!! Cold & extremely windy........ but no rain so it could have been worse!

I had to go to the shop where I work to take my boss her birthday present & card from all her staff so we decided to have a treat & go to McDonalds for lunch.....tut tut I know. Just on a whim I suggested we go to Wroxeter as its very local. I've always wanted to go back there as its a fascinating place. The last time I was there was about 9 or 10 years ago in the summertime & I was on my own with my sketchbook. It was very sunny & very hot. There was no shelter - I cant remember there being a visitor centre then but I'm probably wrong. By the time I got back to Bridgnorth I had to sit with cold wet towels on my back to try & soothe the sunburn....... ouch!!

The conditions were completely different yesterday as you can see :(

Doesn't time fly!!

I haven't blogged for ages again.

I haven't even Facebooked much over the last few weeks!

And I certainly haven't scrapbooked anything at all this year!!

I seem to be very happy watching TV & crocheting........... some might find this a bit weird but others will understand totally where I'm coming from!!

But this morning I thought maybe I should catch up with my favourite bloggers & see whats been happening in their lives.........its my week off work & I can do what I want.......ish!! I looked at Claires blog here & she has got a give-away. When she has got 100 followers she will be sending it out to the winner. I don't usually have much luck with these things but you know what they say..... 'you gotta be in it to win it!'

So fingers crossed!!!
