Smash Hits!!

Our spare bedroom is being made over to my scraproom at last! Just another coat of paint & we can fix the worktop to the wall & I can move my stuff :)

While I was clearing out The Gloryhole (AKA built-in cupboard above stairs) of all the junk/important stuff thats gathered there over the last 4 years I came across a little pile of old Smash Hits magazines that had somehow survived being thrown out in one of my decluttering episodes! I was having a giggle at the clothes & reminiscing (lamenting?) the good old days.

The mags included lyrics to the latest singles, details of their albums & tours aswell as some posters in the middle & back page. One such poster was a giant one of Adam Ant my hero!!
(see further down)

L-R back row Hazel O'Connor, Classix Nouveaux & Kim Wilde
bottom row Dexys Midnight Runners (my mate Kevin 3rd right played the violin!) & Duran Duran

Toyah Wilcox was a crazy woman but I loved her :) The hair & makeup was always amazing.

Oh my love! Adam & The Ants.
How I adored this man. My very own Prince Charming xx

This is the giant poster ....... it may have to go on the wall in my new craft room :)

Blondie & Siouxie were my heroes too ......... must have been the hairstyles!!

There were other artists of course........

Shakin' Stevens & Sheena Easton.......... but we don't have to dwell on them!!
So many names that have almost been forgotten unless you are a devoted fan.
Tenpole Tudor.......Soft Cell......Altered Images......... BowWowWow
.....Ultravox.......Visage......Japan.......... Depeche Mode...... I could go on!!
The worst thing about the discovery of the magazines?
Reading the issue dates of 1981 & 1982.
THIRTY YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you enjoyed my little trip to the past.
Bye for now xx

Look what I made!!

Ideas for Scrapbookers is one of my favourite sites - it does exactly what it says on the tin! Every now & then a contributor will come up with something so simple but so effective that you ask yourself "why didn't I think of that!?". I have always used buttons as flower centres and sometimes I have used brads as flower centres but using them together just never occured to me lol.

Please ignore the first photo as I cant figure out how to delete it without deleting the others too!! You really dont need to see the messy table too many times. (Yes its my dining room table but soon our spare bedroom will be my craftroom and we can go back to using the dining room as it should be)

Aaaaaanyway I had such fun this morning making these flowers that I wanted to share some of them with you ......... and prove to myself that I CAN craft when I put my mind to it ;-))

(thats a cappucino if you were wondering!!)

Aren't they great?

I love love LOVE them!!!

I will have to make some LO's with them & show them off too :) Some of these flowers are quite 'fat' because of the layers but I don't mind - I love to see my albums all bumpy & lumpy!

What do you think of them? Are you going to have a go? Or is it not your thing?

Another giveaway

Oh dear...... has it really been a month since I blogged?

The intention to blog has is with me everyday but I tend to read through my fave blogs first then I get to thinking that what I was going to blog about is just rubbish so I won't bother!!
Bad case of inadequacy again. It will pass.

Im resisting the urge to cancel this post too so I'll get on with it!

Lou Collins has a seriously gorgeous pile of goodies she is giving away on her blog Pretty Paper & Chipboard Stories. You only have to become a follower & link her blog on yours. Take a look at her blog - she does some beautiful LO's especially of her 3 gorgeous children :)

Bye for now xx
