What a mess!!

Good grief!!! I know we probably really need new gas pipes but ..... too many purple barriers in one little road methinks!! The gas has been turned off since 7.30 this morning & it will be sometime this afternoon before we get it back on - thank goodness we aren't still in the chilly temperatures of a few weeks ago cos I would have made sure I was at work & not trying to enjoy a day off lol.

Maybe while they are digging they could look for

1. my motivation /mojo/get up & go

2. my marbles

3. the secret to eternal youth

Any more suggestions? I can ask them to look :)!!

I'm not on a diet but....

I really & truly need to lose a lot of weight so ....... I'm eating more healthily & cutting out a lot of unneccessary snacks.
I can't say I'm on a diet because that just makes me want to eat! It was the same when I was a smoker - the minute anyone (myself included) suggested I gave up smoking .... I lit up a fag in sheer terror!! I'm glad to say that I finally gave up the dreaded fags 2 & half years ago :)

So back to my eating habits & changing them drastically. Well it won't happen overnight but I am determined to lose enough so I can fit into the clothes in my wardrobe as I can't afford to buy new ones! I also need to feel better about myself - I don't like being lumpy & bumpy for goodness sake lol!!!

Spring!!

Spring is springing!! The birds are singing!! The ducks are pairing off!! Oh la la ........!!

My favourite time of year is finally here now that the dreadful snow & very low temps have gone (fingers crossed!!). It seems to have been cold for soooo long this year but last week saw some blue-sky days that were also fairly warm if you stayed in the sunshine.

Mind you on the day I took this photo of catkins I found the grass in the churchyard was still frosty in the shade.

Brrrrr!!!

Slacker!

Oooops I did it again!

I can't believe its a month nearly since I last blogged :(

But i'm not apologising......... nope.......well....... maybe just a little sorry ok?


I have spent most of today at my parents house & while I was there I spotted the pen drawing I did of the house that used to stand where their housing estate was built. Claremont house was old & gone to ruin and I remember seeing chickens in the uncared-for garden as a child when we sneaked a peek over the fence! The photo I copied to make the sketch was in an old local paper (I wish I still had it)
It must have been a beautiful house when it was cared for originally & such a shame that it had to go but the land it was sitting on was far more valuble as building land so it was sold to a developer sometime in the 1970's (?) & my parents moved there in 1986.

This was sketched in 1998 - obviously before I found scrapbooking/blogging/facebook!!!!

Spending Spree!

As it was my birthday yesterday my parents gave me £25 because I couldn’t think of anything that they could buy me. I know…….I can think of many things now!

Anyway by the afternoon the money was begging to be spent so off we went to The Range. Trouble is there’s so much there I just don’t know where to begin! I kept in mind all the snow pic’s that are waiting to be scrapped which helped me to keep away from the new seasonal stuff!! I don’t do Valentine anyway.

As you can see in the photo below there’s quite an  assortment of fabric buttons, white alphas, silver stickers and a couple of packs of papers. I also found a nest of 3 blank boxes to decorate. All for £25  so I was a very happy bunny :)

But the best bit …………………….  was getting home & finally feeling inspired to actually make something with all this gorgeous stuff!

Friday Fill-ins

I've just been checking my blogging friends & Jane at Escaping The City has used the site highlighted above. Its just a small set of questions to fill-in. So heres mine!

1. You have a chance to play with Jake before he goes to bed.
2. I'm too distacted by the computer right now!
3. There is a load of pics on the camera waiting to be downloaded.
4. Buy some scrummy scrap stuff online and pay later.
5. Its time to get scrapbooking - I havent made one layout since before Christmas!
6. Too many balls up in the air but I'm an expert at ignoring most of them!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Jake going to sleep without me having to go upstairs again because he needs to talk, tomorrow my plans include the laundry before visiting relatives and Sunday I want to stay in bed because its my birthday!!!

Mmmmm....... seems to me I have a lot of guilty feelings about what I should/shouldnt be doing!!!!
Have a go yourselves - its quite easy & slightly theraputic AND it helped me with a topic for a blog page :)
